Birthdays and Balls....

Wednesday the 3rd was Gracie's 4th birthday. I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up. Wednesdays are a preschool day so she was excited to go to school ON her birthday. She was so glad to be able to bring cupcakes and choose something from the birthday bag. When daddy got home Gracie got to pick where she wanted to go eat, Red Robin won the honor and after that Gracie opened her family presents.
Saturday was her friend party. She had requested a princess party but she also wanted some of her boy friends to come. They were very understanding. ;)

Here are some pictures to recap the party:
This was actually on her birthday before she went to school.
This is a pose she came up with all by herself.

Gracie's princess birthday cake.
I have a good friend who is a  professional cake decorator who said she would come and teach me how to make fondant and  help me with Gracie's cake as well. It was sooooo fun and I learned soooo much. This was the finished product.
Another shot of the cake.
Playing pin the kiss on the Frog Prince.
One well loved Frog Prince.
Getting ready to play musical pillows.
Cake and ice cream!!

Presents!

Too Fun!

The Sweetheart Ball:
Every year our Home Owners Association puts on a Daddy/Daughter Sweetheart Ball and Gus and Gracie went Saturday evening after the party . Last year Gus took Gracie and she still always talks about it. She loved going to the ball to dance with her "prince".
She thinks that she and Gus got married there. It's really cute. So this year they put on their fancy clothes and dancing shoes and Gus whisked Gracie away for a night of daddy/daughter togetherness.
Here are the pics for that:
Cutting a rug with her favorite guy!

The princess arriving at the ball.

Not the best shot of the Highlands Ranch Mansion. It's a pretty old building and pretty cool from what I hear.

Waiting for the Valet. Apparently Gracie got down on her knees and proposed to Gus while they were waiting. Pretty much the cutest thing I've ever heard. She sure loves her Daddy.

The gorgeous carriage that they rode on. How awesome is that! What a sweet date!

So Saturday was a busy day and we were all quite exhausted after all was said and done. But it was so fun and some wonderful memories were made. We are so grateful for our little Gracie and she and I are both so grateful she has a daddy that takes the time to make his little girl feel like a princess.
