Max and Ruby

Max and Ruby is one of my favorite shows that Gracie watches, however I have a couple concerns about it. I'd like to air them now.

Concern # 1:
Max is sooooo disobedient and mischeivous. Granted he's only disobedient to his big sister and we all know how well we listen to our big sisters (right Kathy?), but it appears that his big sister is the main authority figure in his life. Which leads me to my second concern....

Concern # 2:
WHERE ARE MAX AND RUBY'S PARENTS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Is it just me or do any of you find it slightly disturbing that these two juveniles are basically raising themselves with some occasional help from their grandmother?
I have never seen the slightest hint of a parent anywhere and Ruby has to take Max everywhere she goes. It really is starting to make me sad.

So it leaves me no alternative but to make my own assumptions. Either Max and Ruby live alone, which I'm pretty sure is illegal or their mother is there but not "there", if you catch my drift.

This is what I think she may be up to:

Gus has even gone so far to suggest that maybe none of them are bunnies at all. That maybe we are watching the story through her eyes and due to some unknown substances that mother bunny may be using maybe she's imagining the whole bunny thing.
Heck! Maybe she doesn't have any kids at all and everything is just a hallucination. Although... that sounds more like Yo Gabba Gabba.....

Oh -- Don't even get me started on Yo Gabba Gak! I prefer Max and Ruby's disfunctional life any day!

But seriously, a couple thing we need to remember. Max and Ruby are just bunnies. Therefor our legal system has no hold on them. Second, they are cartoons. They don't exisist!

HeHe HeHe...

I have always wondered why they don't include parents. For goodness sake -- Max does the shopping!
And while everyone knows Big sisters are ALWAYS right and know best, this little Ruby chick does things like put make up on her brother, makes him pose a stupid pose so she can color hi spictures, wraps his arm in a cast and then won't let him come to her pajamma party or be in her band... I would totally disobey too!

So... I just reread my post and my spelling was horrible! Sorry --

Oh -- and I won't take any offese to your doped up Bunny Mamma -- she looks just like me when I am preggy -- only minus the beer bottles and illegal drugs. All my drugs are legal.

i actually have had the same thought about the parents...if it weren't for grandma and the bunny scout leader, they would never have adult interaction. (ok, so obviously brett loves it, too.)

This was so funny to read! I love the Max and Ruby books....they are mainly picture books with one line per page. I'm interested to see how they got interpreted into cartoons.
