Reasons I like Cinderella...

It is official now....Gracie has discovered princesses!

What is it with little girls and princesses, or big girls and princesses, for that matter? I'll be the first to admit (and Gus will enthusiastically agree) that I'm a sucker for a fairy-tale story, ESPECIALLY a Cinderella story or anything that resembles Cinderella.
It doesn't matter how poorly made, how ridiculously cheesy, how horrible the acting, I will gladly and enthusiastically watch it.
Gus is often appalled at the quality (or lack thereof) of acting or storyline, etc. that I will let slide simply because it's Cinderella.
What can I say? I nurture that little girl in me (maybe a little too much :).

So I've thought about it and I have come up with reasons I love Cinderella.
Here goes:
* She always has a positive attitude despite her less than desirable circumstances.
* She is kind and cheerful and patient, even to people that mistreat her.
* She is an animal lover.
* She is feminine and graceful.
* She is a domestic goddess.
* She sings beautifully.
* She is beautiful enough to attract the attention of a Prince. ;)
* And last but not least you've got to love the rags to riches story.

So it's no wonder I like her and it's no wonder all little girls want to be like her. Honestly she is something good to aspire to.

So even at 30, I still want to be like Cinderella. :)

I never get to watch princesses:( Maybe I need to so I can try to be more like Cinderella. I know I need more patience.

Cinderella was the first two-d movie my oldest boy would watch. Before that is was only 3d pixar movies. He loves Cinderella but not for Cinderella. He loves the mice. :)

I think Cinderella is an awesome example. I need to be more of a domestic goddess like her...my dishes need doing...

Laurie, are you saying Gus isn't a prince? The nerve...:) Honestly, I think you have LOTS of the great qualities that you love in Cinderella. You're awesome. Oh, and I'll watch any cinderella story with you anytime, no matter the degree of lameness!

isn't "ever after" a good movie? i don't usually like movies like that, but for some reason, i was all over that one. i'd watch it over and over and over...maybe it's because drew barrymore is a little less submissive. i don't know. i just like it.

Ever After was AWESOME -- in my opinion. It was that one with Hillary Duff that was so lame. Still, I was glued to it like it was the best thing ever. Any princess story, for that matter, has me captured... try "Sidney White". I am under the belief that there is always a part of a girl, little or otherwise, that wants to be like a princess.

Suzi,
Gus is definitely a prince! MAybe I'm more like Cinderella than I think cause I was able to snag him.
According to Gracie "daddy is the king". :)

Jamie and Kathy,
I looooooooove Ever After. Thank you, Kathy, for gifting that movie to me after my mission. I truly NEVER get tired of it.
Kathy,
I actually liked the Hillary Duff one, all the while rolling my eyes, but feeling all giddy and high school-y at the same time.

I did love Sidney White though. Gus even watched it with me and I even think he was amused at some parts. ;)
