Ok so I've thought about posting this for awhile now and after a particularly frusterating storytime on Thursday I've decided to let the gripes fly.
My gripes about storytime:
*People that will come late and sit down right in front of you, resulting in your little one being unable to see.
*People that will talk to their friends at FULL volume during storytime.
*People that let their little kids run all over the place, over other people and their stuff.
*People that wear really short, loose shorts and then sit cross-legged towards everyone.
*People that don't take their screaming kids out.
*The absolute biggest annoyance is when all of the above is combined into one person.
Now I know that sounds pretty harsh and judgmental, but you all know how I feel about my story....I mean Gracie's storytime.
So why do I keep going, you ask?
Because, the positives outweigh the negatives.
So here are the positives/What I love about storytime:
*Watching a bunch of toddlers jumping and singing and doing actions all at different times.
*Miss Jo
*Gracie and mommy fun, bonding time.
*Teaching Gracie reading skills.
*Getting out of the house.
*Despite the annoyance I feel sometimes, I love to people watch.
So there you have it folks. You're welcome to come to storytime with us......if you dare! ;)

yes, the late-comers who sit in the front used to bug me too! I miss going to story time with you guys!!

I can't believe you are such a snob :-). Just kidding. I am the same way, it's just that our story times here are't as great as yours, so we are not missing much if your "friend" were to barge in on us...
Ditto to everything you said! Especially the adults talking louder than the kids and the kids that are screaming! You are not a snob, just observant :-)
we love our storytime, too. i had noticed parents talking to each other quite loudly before, but it didn't seem to bother me until my friend starting coming and wanting to talk to me during storytime. i've been having a hard time trying not to be rude to her, especially since i think she should know better! i don't get it.
um, do the people that used to go to my high school attend your storytime? I swear, I saw more of the short shorts/cross-legged thing than I EVER wanted to! Hang in there, hopefully these people will *somehow* realize how much they are infringing on the other attendees.
Sadly my Kaden is not allowed to go to the library. He is one of the kids that run around and are far too loud. He also loves to pound on the computers. And he throws a fit and won't leave. I take him every once in awhile to see if he can handle it yet and so far... not the place for my little boy. He loves books but he will just have to deal with our dollar store library until he is a little older.
Ugh! I hate late commers too. It's so rude. If I'm late I sneak in and sit at the back, I thought that was common knowledge. If you want to sit up front get there earlier.
I think it's fun to watch people too. Sometimes it's nice to pat yourself on the back and think, I am a good mom!!!
Hey there! You've been tagged! Check out my blog for details :)
