Gracie has discovered having her nails painted and she gets soooooo giddy about it. It really cute and some super fun girl bonding time, too.
The other night I painted her nails and she picked out the brightest blue she could find and a pink flower sticker to go on it. It turned out quite nice I thought.
The next day I was doing stuff on the computer while she was playing with her "toys" in the family room. It wasn't until she came into the the kitchen smelling like fresh nail polish that the sound of her toys clanking around suddenly registered as bottles of nail polish and I remembered with horror that I'd left them on the floor from the night before.
Yes...there was an entire bottle of nail polish on my carpet, and it just happened to be a brand new bottle.
The good news:
- Rather than picking a bright blue or purple color to open she chose the color that best matched our carpet.
- It stayed in one spot and didn't end up on the couch or clothes or anything else. YAY.
- While my house reeks of nail polish remover it is 98% out of my carpet. Double YAY.
She didn't get in trouble however because I was the one who left it out and I think she felt bad when she saw my reaction. She was just trying to paint nails. I just explained to her that only mommy is allowed to open the "nail paint". I think she was greatly relieved. :)
It was a sign, however, for how the rest of the day went. :(
Aside from the 5000 tantrums that went on from just one 2 year old I also got to clean up a soaked Gracie and soaked bed from an entire water bottle that she'd spit out and also Gus and I got to clean up vomit from her crying so hard from another tantrum.
Gratefully we all slept soundly that night. (sigh)

It took me forever to find out how to get the code for my avitar. Once you have created your avitar and have saved it, look to the right side of the screen. There is a rectangle box with a list of things in it. Look for "Export". It will be blue. Click on that and it will give you the options. Hope that helps. Can't wait to see yours.
Oh yeah, don't you love the things kids do. Scotty broke one of our windows yesterday. It is a low window with a little ledge. He wanted to sit on the ledge and went to sit down and broke the window with his butt. I feel your pain!
I wish I could tell you that 3 is better. Good luck.
Oh my gosh, I think this is the funniest post you have ever written. Your poor carpet! Your list of "good news" was so sweet, you were really trying to look on the bright side, weren't you? And I can't believe Gracie can make herself vomit from crying so hard! Wow!
Love parenthood! Is there anything better!?
Awesome. I love that she thinks she is so big that she can paint her nails herself, ah, sweet childhood! :)
You are the best mom!! You're so patient and loving!! :)
