So last week when I was getting Gracie ready for bed I did something that she got mad at (probably changed her diaper). She pointed at my face with all her might and said "you beach!" I just stared at her for a minute trying to comprehend what I just heard and hoping with all my might that she wasn't saying what I thought she was saying.
She could tell I was utterly confused so she pointed to my face about 3 more times and said "you beach." I kept asking her what and trying to think of words she could possibly be saying and couldn't come up with anything. I figured she couldn't possibly know any swear words so I just thought it's a word I can't understand.... until the next day. She got mad at me again and pointed to my face and said "you beach!" I was horrified! My sweet little innocent girl calling her mother a...well...you know. The next day it happened again and I tried to stay calm and convince her she was trying to say something else. That didn't work.
Gus and I were racking our brains trying to figure out where she could have heard that word and hoping that she wouldn't say it to anyone else, especially the sweet ladies in Nursery at church.
So she went a few days without saying it and just as I was hoping she forgot it she whipped it out again.
Of course this was never while Gus was around. So he couldn't help me figure out if she was saying anything else.
So tonight as we were getting her ready for bed she points to her face and says "Gracie beach". And after going through several words that she could be saying we finally arrived at cheeks. When we said cheeks she pointed to her face and said "beach". We asked her where her cheeks were a few more times just to make sure and everytime had the same reaction.
I can't tell you the relief I felt knowing that my 2 year old wasn't actually swearing. Aaaaaah.
It was pretty funny though.

That's funny! I'm glad she wasn't swearing too, hopefully you won't have to deal with that for a few more years.
Ha! Ha! Too funny! I love the pic of her with the guitar. Definately a daughter of two musically talented parents.
Woah, that was a close one. My heart started to race a little bit. Glad it turned out to be cheeks!!!
It is so funny how some of the most innocent words can sound so not innocent coming from our little one's mouths.
What adorable pictures of Gracie! Thanks for sharing them. :)
This is GREAT! Levi and I laughed about it for a while...what a cutie!
She is getting so big -- she is SO cute! I can't believe that it has been a year since we have seen you guys and that you little girl isn't so little anymore!
