Saluting the Flag

I found this video through my sisters blog. For those of you that know me you will know that for me, saluting the flag is a big deal, or should I say not saluting the flag is a big deal. My parents were very diligent in instilling a love and pride of country and flag in me and this is something that truly offends me.

We are trying to do the same as my parents did and I know Gus' parents did and instill a love of country in our child. And it thrills me when she gets so excited to see "America's Flag" and when she "recites" the Pledge of Allegiance or when she asks for the Flag song. I hope we can teach her as well as our parents taught us to be proud of her country and the freedom that she enjoys.

Seriously. I can't believe that people are so flippin' brainwashed by all this politically correct crap that anything is acceptable for the sake of "tolerance" including blatant anti-nationalist behavior. Drives me crazy.

YOU GUYS ARE GREAT PARENTS!

Wow. I am floored. I can't believe Obama just stood there, rocking on his feet. It was almost like he was thinking, "Okay already, let's get this over with." I am horrified. I'm so ticked that he's got such a good chance of becoming the next President.

And so sweet listening to you with Gracie. You are such a patient, loving mom. I'm so proud that you're teaching her to love America. Okay, little tears in my eyes now!
