The Good, The Bad, and The......Hairy????

I love Disneyland!
We got back on Sunday from a great trip. Gracie was sooo excited to go and for weeks kept saying "go Disneyland...see Mickey Mouse? ok? Let's go!"
I don't think she was dissapointed in her first trip to Disneyland.
It started out a little rough though which brings me to "the good, bad and the hairy".

I will start with the Bad first:

  • We were planning on meeting the Bruschke's there and were so excited to see them, but because of some problems with Brian's work they had to cancel. We were totally bummed, but we understood.
  • When we got to the airport Gus got pulled over for a speeding ticket! Yikes!
  • We got to the hotel (that I'd gotten for $40 a night on Priceline) and were a bit dissapointed in it. Which I will finish writing about in a sec.
  • Gracie got some sort of stomach flu thing and we ended up taking her to Urgent Care. After some rest and some medicine that finally stayed down she was doing better but I felt so bad for her cause I could tell that was totally bummed about having to miss out on some Disneyland time because she was sick.

Now for the Hairy:

As I mentioned before we were dissapointed in our hotel. The bathroom floor was sticky and there were hairs on the toilet seat. Eeeew.

We were prepared to stick it out though. The first thing we did when we got there was crash in the bed so we'd be refreshed for Disneyland that evening.

After we woke up I noticed what looked like snot on the sheets. UGGGGGH! And then upon further inspection I realized why I was feeling allergic. THERE WERE DOGS HAIRS ALL OVER IN THE SHEETS ON THE BED!!!!!!!!! Nasty!!!!! And then we noticed them all over the rest of the room! Gross, gross, gross! Well that was the straw on the camels back and I was on the phone with Priceline to tell them we wanted out!

They were very good and got the hotel to refund our money. Now if they'd just cover our flea collars. ;)

p.s. I learned a couple of things from this:

  1. ALWAYS check your sheets before you get in your hotel bed.
  2. You get what you pay for. ;)

Ok, now the Good:

  • Right after I got off the phone with Priceline, I got a call from Megan saying that they were at the airport on their way to Disneyland!!!!! Yay!!!! Brian decided to forget about work for a couple days. We were sooo happy and we hope it was worth it for them.
  • We got a different hotel that turned out to be great! It had free breakfast and everything! And clean sheets....we made sure!
  • We met up with the Bruschke's on Thursday morning and our trip was complete! And as soon as we walked through the gates Mickey Mouse was right there which made Gracie's day.
  • We had so much fun and thanks to fast passes and stroller passes we didn't have to wait in too many long lines and we even got to go on some adult rides while we switched off watching kids.
  • There was lots more fun, good stuff, but I'll let the pictures explain some of that!

  • On the Jungle Cruise, too much fun for Gracie and Grayden!

Meeting Balloo after the cruise. She just wanted to hold his hand!

Our wonderful friends The Bruschke's!!

Grayden and Gracie LOVED the Pixar Parade! It was soooo fun to watch them. They were both sooooo excited!

Meeting Mickey Mouse!

Gracie and her ears. She thought her name should go in front! I don't blame her.

Mickey and Minnie came out to meet everyone right as we were leaving on our last night. Gracie had to put on her ears just for them!

Our tired little girl! No sooner did she sit down in the stroller to go home and she was out!
Mom and Dad felt the same! :)

We had such a great time and made such great memories! I can't wait to go again!

That is awesome! What a fun vacation. I'm starting to think that Priceline is good for hodunk cities because you can get into a better hotel for cheap because they are desperate to fill their rooms rather than hot-spot vacation areas like Disneyland. Hmmm...

Next time you can come and stay with us. We are an hour away from Disneyland so it is a drive- but no dog hairs on the sheets at our house. It wouldn't have worked for this trip since I just had a baby- but next time. :) I'm glad that you had a good time!

Woah, I am totally grossed out by your hotel description. Nasty! And I thought I'd been in some bad ones! Not even close! So sorry!

But other than that, it sounds like a really fun trip. I'm totally jealous that you got to meet up with the Bruschke's!

I think I would have thrown up! Hair is sooooo gross. I'm so jealous that you guys got to take Gracie to Disneyland. I'm hoping we'll get to take Scotty sometime soon. Have you guys decided on when you're coming in May or if you're coming?

I am so glad that after all the "hairy" incidents (disgusting, by the way) and the sickness that you had a good time. Nothing like a fun day at Disneyland to make things better! Love that place! So glad the Bruschkes could make it too...how fun!

I'm glad that the trip turned out to be fun! Levi was hoping the hotel he chose would work out, so we're glad it did. I'm sad that he's such a hog of my cell phone so I never got to talk to you guys! :)

Okay, that post was SO funny that I sat here all by myself in my kitchen laughing my head off. Thanks. And, in case either of you would like to know who this crazy stranger is...I went to HS with Gus for a year or two, and Raysha, and Suzi... take a gander at my blog and see if you remember me.
